Kineo Rhyolite is associated with the Kineo Volcanic Member of the Tomhegan Formation, Moose River Group of western Maine.  Primary outcroppings occur in the hills between Blue Ridge and Mount Kineo, Shaw Mountain, Little Kineo Mountain, Norcross Mountain, and Table Mountain.
